The Gates Center for Regenerative Medicine was established with a generous gift in memory of entrepreneur and philanthropist Charles C. Gates. Mr. Gates was enthusiastic about the potential for regenerative medicine, and through philanthropy, his family hoped to make a major investment that would support a world-class center focused on transformative human therapies.
In the years since its founding, philanthropic support has allowed the organization to pursue innovative research, invest in state-of-the-art facilities, and recruit and train top talent in regenerative medicine research. Partnerships with generous benefactors have provided Gates Institute members with the resources to conduct collaborative work in oncology, ophthalmology, cardiology, dermatology and much more.
Benefactors who wish to make an impact on the work of the Gates Institute can support any of the following funds:
provides flexible funding to support the top priorities at Gates Institute, including research, recruitment and facilities.
provides resources, including legal and regulatory guidance, and product development expertise, to help Gates Institute members move their discoveries from the lab into products and services that will benefit patients.
supports our annual undergraduate internship program, which gives talented college students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in regenerative medicine research alongside mentors from the CU School of Medicine faculty.
helps researchers further their understanding of some of the most challenging diseases through the use of a unique, safe and highly efficient induced pluripotent stem cell technology developed at Gates Institute.
