Gates Biomanufacturing Facility

The Gates Biomanufacturing Facility (GBF) is a key link in the commercialization of the world-class medical research concepts launched from the Anschutz Medical Campus.

The GBF is one of six combined cell therapy and protein manufacturing facilities in the United States and the only one of its kind within an 800-mile radius of Denver. The facility has been a key element in the recruitment and retention of some of the nation’s top regenerative medicine researchers for the CU Anschutz Medical Campus.

The GBF offers its resources and expertise to a growing membership of researchers and clinicians at the Anschutz Medical Campus, which includes University of Colorado Hospital, Children’s Hospital Colorado and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, as well as the Denver and Boulder campuses, National Jewish Health, Colorado State University, the Colorado School of Mines, and business startups. The GBF also works with private enterprise in Colorado and across the nation, as one of the few national facilities with FDA-compliant Good Manufacturing Practices for the safe and effective production of clinical grade materials for human trials.
