Research Funding Opportunity

Grubstake logoDo you have a research discovery that could improve patients' lives? The Gates Grubstake Fund provides awards of up to  $350,000 annually to investigators who are researching and developing regenerative medicine-related technologies including therapeutics, diagnostics, devices, manufacturing, and platforms.

The Gates Grubstake Fund application period opens June 1 and ends at 5 p.m., on August 31. For those selected, a final pitch presentation is held in November.

The Grubstake Fund honors the spirit of Gates Institute benefactor Charles C. Gates, a Colorado businessman and entrepreneur who sought to infuse his family’s philanthropy with the tools of collaboration, creativity and a human focus. The Grubstake process recognizes that medical researchers often need expert guidance in protecting and translating their ideas into viable products for human benefit.

Successful applications generally have proof of concept data to support the use of their product in the clinic. Applicants are encouraged to approach our Venture Fellow, Phoebe Cao, early in the application process to obtain assistance with the application, which is focused on product development and commercialization.
