Bonnie Yates, MS, CPNP-AC, joined the Gates institute in May 2025 as Clinical Research Writing Program Director. She is responsible for protocol writing and the clinical quality program. Bonnie has over 20 years’ experience in pediatric oncology and hematopoietic stem cell transplant nursing. She earned a master’s degree as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in 2012 and worked in bone marrow transplantation. Seeking new experiences, Bonnie joined the National Cancer Institute in 2014 where she was introduced to research and CAR T cells. Her focus has primarily been in CAR T cells for leukemia and lymphoma, but she is eager to learn more about cellular therapy for other indications. In her spare time, Bonnie loves crafts with her favorite hobbies being knitting and crocheting.
