As a content coordinator for Gates Institute, Lacey Mesia leverages a depth of research experience to write about cell and gene therapy for diverse audiences. She is a PhD candidate in bioengineering at CU Anschutz and earned a dual bachelor’s of science in biochemistry and mathematics at Eastern Oregon University and bachelor’s of science in clinical laboratory science at Oregon Institute of Technology. Lacey is an active member of organizations focused on communicating about science to lay audiences, including Think Like a Scientist and Project Bridge. She is also involved in mentorship and professional development initiatives such as Rocky Mountain Mentors and Colorado Clinical and Translation Sciences Institute programs.
