We will be accepting applications for the Class of 2024 beginning December 1st.
The Gates Summer Internship Program (GSIP) is open to applicants from all backgrounds who are in a science-related major and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at the time of application. Former GSIP interns are encouraged to apply.
We welcome students from traditionally underrepresented groups in biomedical research, such as African American, Hispanic/Latinx, American Indian/Alaska Native/Native Pacific Islander, first-generation college students who are economically disadvantaged and students with disabilities. Students from rural or inner-city areas with limited access to research opportunities are also encouraged to apply. GSIP is open to international students who possess an F1 visa.
In addition to an online application, all GSIP applicants are required to provide the following documents:
1. Two letters of recommendation – Applicants will be prompted to provide the name and email address of two references to generate reference requests. At least one of the recommendations should be from a previous or current science professor.
2. CV or Resume – Applicants should detail their experience, academic background, research, awards, publications, presentations, community service, skills and credentials.
3. Transcript(s) – Applicants will need to upload a copy of their unofficial transcript. Please note that official transcripts may be required upon acceptance.
