Geoff Solich

Geoff “Duffy” Solich joined the Gates Advisory Board in December 2016. Duffy has been in the oil and gas business in Denver his whole career ranging from private equity investing to upstream drilling and exploration. Duffy is currently the President of Ponderosa Energy Holdings, a private upstream oil and gas company focused on the acquisition of minerals and royalty interest in the domestic US. 

Duffy received his Bachelor of Science degree from CU Boulder in business administration – Minerals Land Management – as a four-year recipient of the Evans Scholarship. In addition to the Gates Advisory Board, Duffy serves as an elected trustee of the Western Golf Association and Evans Scholars Foundation as well as the Colorado Golf Foundation, Arizona Golf Alliance, and The Solich Fund. Duffy has an interest in medicine, innovation, and new cures. Through his involvement in the Solich Fund, Duffy worked with his brother George and wife Carol to endow a chair and follow-on funding on the Anschutz Medical Campus in honor of their mother, Doni Solich. Doni suffered from the disease that is the leading cause of blindness for those over 50. This chair is held by Valeria Canto-Soler, PHD, who is also the director of CellSight – Ocular Stem Cell and Regeneration Research Program, which is focused on the research and development of a cure for age-related macular degeneration and other ocular diseases. Duffy and his wife Anita reside in Castle Pines and have four children.
